The Cités des métiers International Network was created in 2001, following the dissemination of the concept in various territories in France at first (Nîmes, Côtes d’Armor, Belfor), then abroad (Barcelona, Milan).
Today, the association carries 3 main missions:

Bring together .
Through sharing of practices and experiences as well as networking and team building activities, the Network fosters a collaborative dynamic that encourages the emergence of joint projects and strengthens its members.
As its flagship initiative, the Network organizes an annual seminar, known as the Spring or Autumn School. Hosted by a different Cité des Métiers member each season, this event promotes the exchange of best practices, the sharing of successful innovation and collective reflection on the current challenges faced by career guidance services.
Professionalise .
The Network supports the development and adaptation of practices in line with the principles promoted by the Charter. In this respect, the association runs the ‘Trainers-Counsellors Group’, a collective of counsellors, part of the CDMs’ team, committed to offering newcomers a module to raise awareness on the specificity of working in a CDM.
Through various European projects, the Network has developed professionalisation content for other key functions of the Cités des métiers.
Promote and represent .
The Network aims to showcase the Cité des métiers concept and seeks to communicate the achievements of its members to civil society, political and institutional stakeholders.
It is a member of the European organisation Lifelong Learning Platform, which brings together some 40 European networks involved in lifelong learning and training.
